Grannies Group

The Grannies Group is a peer support network of senior Aboriginal men and women who take action to preserve culture and belonging within their families and communities.

The Grannies Group approached us to help raise awareness of drug and alcohol issues that put stress on family relationships and cause significant problems for health and wellbeing.

We provided nationally recognised training in group facilitation and presentation skills and then produced a facilitator’s guide to use with a video resource, so they could run community education sessions using their own stories and issues.

These community leaders support and influence a large network of families. By responding to their needs in this way we hoped to assist them to positively disseminate knowledge and offer their cultural guidance.
