Peer Education and Peer Support
We offer training and support programs for peer workers and educators in health and community settings, in order to support them to increase skills and confidence in their work. In many cases this includes achieving formal qualifications and expanding career opportunities.
Our programs are specifically designed for people who are supporting others who have had similar life experiences to their own, or who are consumers of similar services. Peer education and peer support methods recognise people’s knowledge and skills gained from lived experience. This approach understands that people turn to their informal networks for support and in particular, seek peers who have direct experience and understanding of their issues.
Please note: These programs are uniquely tailored to the needs of the specific group and can be aligned to nationally recognised competencies from the Community Services Training Package.
