Dr Laurie MacKinnon PhD returns to Adelaide in February 2017 to deliver Deactivating the Buttons: Integrating a trauma lens with a counselling framework. A two-day workshop for counsellors, psychologists, social workers and mental health professionals.
This workshop outlines and critiques common therapeutic approaches to working with trauma. You will be shown how Radical Exposure Tapping (RET) can be used quickly and effectively to resolve memories of disturbing events that fuel PTSD, anxiety, fears, emotional reactivity and patterns of escalating conflict.
Participants will receive sufficient hands-on clinical training to immediately integrate Radical Exposure Tapping (RET) into practice with clients.
About Radical Exposure Therapy
RET is a form of exposure therapy that draws from the methodology of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) combined with the tapping sequence of the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). This intervention is more flexible than EMDR and provides greater theoretical and methodological rigor than using the EFT technique alone. It can be effective in a single session.
