Course Overview
This nationally recognised Diploma equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, improving their personal and psychological wellbeing. With both practical and theoretical training, graduates will be able to establish and maintain positive client relationships and apply specialist expertise to address a wide range of issues in a counselling environment. Upon successful completion, graduates can pursue employment in the community services sector. The qualification covers the application of proven therapy techniques, crisis intervention, and recognising signs of family violence, mental health issues, and child harm. Students will also learn how to refer clients to appropriate services, understand legal and ethical requirements, and work effectively within a case management framework.
Prerequisites
It is recommended that individuals seeking entry have sufficient relevant work experience to demonstrate a strong likelihood of success at this qualification level in a role that involves providing support and client-focused services.
