Course Overview
This skill set is designed for lived experience peer workers entering the mental health workforce, providing training and support to develop personal awareness alongside professional and community skills essential for the unique role of a mental health peer worker. Participants will gain an understanding of the role of lived experience within peer work in an organisational setting and develop the skills to work legally and ethically. Graduates are prepared for roles in the community services sector, such as peer support worker, consumer voice speaker, community advocate or educator and lived experience worker.
Prerequisites
Learners in this program must have a lived experience of mental health either as direct personal experience or as a carer of someone with mental health lived experience.

- CHCPWK001 – Apply Peer Work Practices in the Mental Health Sector
- CHCLEG001 Work legally and ethically
- CHCPWK003 Apply lived experience in mental health per work

Fee
Full Fee: between $65 – $900 Subsidies by the Australian and South Australian Government are available for eligible candidates.
