Vicki was first exposed to the idea of becoming a Case Manager through her work as a Client Services Officer at Relationships Australia SA. Since completing her Diploma of Community Services (Case Management) at the Institute, she has now gone on to secure a position as a Case Manager and is loving it! Here’s her story…
What qualification did you study?
The Diploma of Community Services (Case Management).
Why did you decide to study at the Institute?
I was working as a Client Services Officer at Relationships Australia SA so I was aware of the qualifications offered at the Institute. After speaking to some colleagues and getting more information about the qualification, I realised that it was exactly what I wanted to do, so I went for it.
What was your favourite part about studying at the Institute?
My facilitator, Goran. He is so passionate and has a great teaching style. After working all week, you’d think the last thing I’d want to do on a Saturday was to study, but I was always motivated to go and looked forward to it because Goran is such a great teacher. The people in my class were also fantastic, which made it really enjoyable.
How has this study been beneficial for you?
I now have a job as a Case Manager at Relationships Australia SA, which I love!
Would you recommend the Institute to others?
Definitely! From the front line reception staff all the way through the process, everybody was approachable and accommodating. The environment is friendly and relaxed and also very nurturing. The facilitators were always happy to help with any struggles the students might be having and even made themselves available for extra study hours. It is a great place to study!
