Sarah Decrea, Practice Leader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Services along with Karina Mitchell, Parenting Educator and qualified First-Touch Program Instructor have developed and delivered ‘Working Better with Nunga Kids’ workshop to the Community and Human Services sector for a few years now. They bring a rich cultural experience to this one-day training.
Due to an over-representation of Aboriginal people and children in many mainstream services, this course is essential for all workers in the Community and Human Services.
Sarah and Karina share their inherited and lived cultural knowledge to help you develop a culturally appropriate approach to working better with Aboriginal children.
Workers will gain from their extensive delivery of training and services as well as other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, in this hands-on and immersive course. Full of practical exercises, participants take away culturally appropriate resources, as well as tips and ideas to help them further in their work.
This workshop is essential for anyone who provides services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families as part of their work.
Sarah received a NAPCAN Play Your Part South Australia Individual Award in 2016 acknowledging her previous outstanding work done with Ngartuitya, our Indigenous Children and Schooling Program in Adelaide’s northern metropolitan region.
The ‘Working Better with Nunga Kids’ is on 13 September. Click here to enrol your spot today!
